Why did you hire that system?

Hey [FIRST NAME GOES HERE],

I was talking with a coaching client the other day. She’s consistently publishing long-form content—blog posts, podcasts, YouTube videos—but she isn't seeing the result she wants: a growing email list.

Once we looked closer, the problem became obvious.

Her goal is list growth.

Her content is doing everything but that.

Some blog posts invite people to subscribe to her YouTube channel.

Some podcast episodes promote an upcoming sale.

Some YouTube videos link only to the next video.

Those are all perfectly good calls to action… unless your goal is email subscribers.

One of the core principles inside Six-Figure Systems and Systems for Solopreneurs is that every system has a job. You “hire” a system—content marketing, email, discovery calls—to produce a specific result.

If the system isn’t doing its job, you won’t get the result.

Where solopreneurs often go wrong is assuming the system itself is broken. So they “fire” it and go shopping for a replacement:

  • They switch email platforms.
  • They drop the podcast and try YouTube instead.
  • They shut down the membership and start a new one.

But before you fire an underperforming employee (or system), you have to ask:

“Have I given it the resources it needs to succeed?”

You wouldn’t expect a sales team to close 40% of calls without training, scripts, and leads.

So why expect your content to grow your list if you’re not consistently pointing people toward your list?

Here’s the real kicker: the shiny new tool or platform won’t perform any better if you haven’t fixed the underlying issue.

So start with two simple clarity questions:

  1. What job have I hired this system to do?
  2. Have I given it what it needs to do that job?

If you’re not sure how to answer those questions—or you suspect your systems aren’t working together as cleanly as they could—this is exactly what we do inside Six-Figure Systems.

If you want your systems to finally produce the results you’re working so hard for—without adding more to your plate—join us inside. You’ll get the frameworks, the support, and the monthly workshops that help solopreneurs optimize for predictable revenue.
